    DAY 01 ARRIVE/HABARANA

    On arrival at the Bandaranaike International airport, you will be warmly greeted by your very own chauffeur guide and transferred to Habarana (Approx. 4 hrs& 15 mins drive). On arrival in the hotel, spend the day at leisure relaxing and enjoying the hotel facilities.

    Spend overnight at Habarana Lodge. Accommodation is in Superior rooms with ensuite facilities. Your stay is on bed & breakfast basis.

    DAY 02 HABARANA/ANURADHAPURA/HABARANA

    After breakfast we drive to Anuradhapura and visit the ancient city Anuradhapura (approx 1 hr and 15 minutes’ drive). It was first historical capital founded around the 5th century B.C in Sri Lanka and is the one of the world heritage sites in Sri Lanka.It’s offers a host of memorable sightseeing highlights. This was the most celebrated of Sri Lanka’s well-preserved ruins of ancient Sri Lankan civilization. The ruins consist of three classes of buildings, dagobas, monastic buildings, and ponds. The city’s most renowned relic is the sacred Bo Tree, which is said to have grown from a branch of the tree under which the Buddha gained Enlightenment.

    DAY 03 HABARANA/POLONNARUWA/HABARANA

    After breakfast we drive to Polonnaruwa and visit the ancient city Polonnaruwa (approx 1 hr and 15 minutes’ drive).Polonnaruwa is the ancient heart of Sri Lanka. It became established as the capital in the 11th century, when Anuradhapura was abandoned due to foreign invasion. A well planned medieval city defended by enclosing walls, it was graced by palaces, shrines, monasteries, pavilions, ponds and irrigation lakes. Polonnaruwa is famous for impressive stone culture. The Gal Vihare is one of Sri Lanka’s most unforgettable monuments which are located Polonnaruwa. A group of three colossal Buddha images in seated standing and reclining is carved with fluid grace and almost live expression, on a huge rock face.

     

    DAY 04 HABARANA/SIGIRIYA/DAMBULLA/KANDY

    After Breakfast we drive to visiting spectacular Sigiriya rock fortress with its rocky abode & water gardens (approx 45 minutes’ drive). Sigiriya is one of the UNESCO World heritage sites in Sri Lanka.It is famous for its toadstool of golden-hued granite, protruding into the searing blue sky from a hot, flat wilderness of scrubland, which is transformed in the rainy season to a water garden In the 5th century King Kashyapa domesticated the Lions Rock, by building a palace atop its summit. The 10 ft height Mirror wall still glistens with 5th century high gloss and the majestic Lion’s Paw picturesquely guards the stairway to the palace on the summit. A gallery of frescoes of shapely, be -jeweled maidens still glows with vibrant colour.

    On completion of this visit,you will be transferred to Dambulla Cave Temple(approx 30 minutes’ drive). The Dambulla Cave temple was built by King Walagambahu in the 1st century B.C. and it is a World Heritage Site.  It is the most impressive of Sri Lanka’s cave temples. The complex of five caves with over 2000 sq. meters of painted walls and ceilings, is the largest area of paintings found in the world.  It contains over 150 images of the Buddha of which the largest is the colossal figure of the Buddha carved out of rock and spanning 14 meters.

    DAY 05 KANDY/PINNAWALA ELEPHANT ORPHANGE/NEGOMBO

    After breakfast we will visit the Temple of Tooth Relic. Sri Lanka’s hill capital Kandy was the last capital and stronghold of its independent kingdom which resisted European colonialism from the latter half of the 16th century until 1815.Today Kandy is a sanctuary of the traditional culture it preserved for many centuries. Kandy’s fascinating heritage sites include the moated,turreted and golden roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha temples of the four guardian deities Natha,Vishnu,Katharagama and Pattini,the audience Hall and Ulpenge(Queen’s Bath),all with distinctive late medieval period architecture  and the scenic.

    On completion of this visit,you will be transferred to Pinnawala Elephant Orphange(approx 45 minutes’ drive). The Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage was started in 1975 by the Department of Wildlife on a twenty five acre coconut property on the Maha Oya River at Rambukkana. The orphanage was primarily designed to afford care and protection to the many baby elephants found in the jungle without their mothers. The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage provides visitors with the best chance of seeing a large number of elephants at close quarters. This elephant orphanage is also conducts captive breeding of some elephants in its care. The most interesting to visit at feeding time to see the baby elephants being bottle fed and the entire herd taken for a bath thereafter to the river nearby. Spend overnight at Jetwing Lagoon. Accommodation is in Superior rooms with ensuite facilities. Your stay is on bed & breakfast basis.

    DAY 06 NEGOMBO / AIRPORT

    Today after breakfast you will be met our Driver and transferred to Airport for departure.  (Approx 30 minutes drive)

    DAY 02 ANURADAPURA/ HABARANA

    After breakfast leave for Anuradhapura Anuradhapura – The capital of Sri Lanka from the 05th Century B.C. to the end of the 10th Century A.D. was the most celebrated of Sri Lanka’s ancient ruined cities. The city’s greatest treasures are its dagobas constructed of bricks and are hemispherical in shape. The most notable of these dagobas are the Ruvanveliseya dating back to the 2nd Century B.C. and is 300 feet in diameter, the Jetawanarama is 370 feet and the Thuparama Dagoba is enshrined with the collarbone of the Buddha. The city’s most renowned relic is the sacred Bo Tree, which is said to have grown from a branch of the tree under which the Buddha gained Enlightenment. It was planted 2250 years ago and is the oldest historically authenticated tree in the world. Anuradhapura is a “World Heritage Site”.

    DAY 03 HABARANA /POLONNARUWA / HABARANA

    After breakfast you will be transferred to Polonnaruwa (approx.1 hrs)

    The ancient heart of Sri Lanka. An important royal capital with its well-preserved 12th century ruins & impressive stone culture recalls an inspired past. Although nearly 1000 years old, it is much younger than Anuradhapura and generally in better repair. The monuments are arranged in a reasonably compact garden setting and their development is easier to follow.

    DAY 04 HABARANA/DABULLA/KANDY

    After breakfast you will drive to Sigiriya (approx..30 minute)

    DAY 05 KANDY/PINNAWALA/NEGAMBO

    After breakfast you will be met your own chauffeur guide and visit kandy city

    In the morning visit Temple of Tooth in Kandy. Located in Kandy, long a center of the Buddhist faith, the stunning 17th-century Temple of the Tooth (Sri Dalada Maligawa) is believed to house the left upper canine tooth of the Lord Buddha himself. This precious relic attracts white-clad pilgrims, bearing lotus blossoms and frangipani, every day.
    The Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage provides visitors with the best chance of seeing a large number of elephants at close quarters. The orphanage was established in 1975 and commenced with seven orphaned elephants. Today some of these orphans enjoy the fortune of seeing their calfs born in the same location. Assisted by local and foreign elephant experts, Pinnawala commenced a successful captive breeding program and the first baby elephant was born in 1984. It is most interesting to visit at feeding time to see the baby elephants being bottle fed and the entire herd taken for a bath thereafter to the river nearby.

    You will be transferred from Pinnawala to Negombo(approx.2 1/2 hrs drive)

    DAY 06 NEGAMBO

    You can spend the day at leisure, relaxing in the Negambo beach. Spend overnight at hotel.
